But I’m sticking with it going forward.ĪRTIST: Marcus To, Erick Arcinega (Colorist), Cory Petit (Letterer). I had no idea about Marauders until recently. Gerry Duggan also gives us some fun character moments and dialogue. It’s got an easy concept with familiar characters. It reminds me of the most recent volume of X-Men: Gold, which Kitty also happened to be the lead in. I jest, but I really like this book a lot. Kitty Pryde buys Wolverine a bunch booze in this issue. Other potential titles for Marauders: Put the Kitty Outside and What If the X-Men Were Superhero Pirates, and Places to Buy Booze for Wolverine. Cover by Russell Dauterman & Matthew Wilson. The issue, and thus far the story overall, is enjoyable for what it is.ĪRTISTS: Matteo Lolli, Federico Blee (Colorist), Cory Petit (Letterer). That being said, none of this is meant as a dig. We’ve even got some paint-by-numbers mind-control fights between League members. I’m sure a few lines were inserted to indicate John Stewart is the leader. Thus, everything is drawn very simply and spoken plainly. As we’ve discussed previously, those sold at retailers and meant for average joes. I can’t say I know this for a fact, but so far this story feels like it was meant for a DC Giant. It definitely lends itself to more interesting action sequences, as we see here when Frank fights off a big snow wolf.ĪRTISTS: Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira (Inker), Romulo Fajardo Jr. He’s got a lot more bolts and has a more deformed and monstrous look to him, as opposed to the conventional Universal movie-inspired look the monster tends to have. I really like the look of Undone‘s Frankenstein. Hopefully readers who speak Hellboy will be a little more invested. But I can’t say I’m incredibly enthralled either. I’m hardly offended by Frankenstein Undone #2. So it works two-fold.ĪRTISTS: Ben Stenbeck, Brennan Wagner (Colorist), Clem Robins (Letterer). And this is the first Hickman project I’ve really been able to immerse myself in. I must say, even if some of it has that typical X-Men level of convolutedness to it, I’m enjoying revisiting these characters and their world. I’ve been diving further into Jonathan Hickman’s Dawn of X stuff. We’ve got two releases from this week, as well as two X-Men back issues. ***”Weekly Comic 100s” keeps it nice and simple. Alex Ross Spotlight: Marvel “Timeless” Portraits Then, Ridley introduces us to a new character who may serve as a door to something that’s ultimately much more interesting than the story he’s telling us about Wakandan sleeper agents, assassins, etc.Įmail Rob at or check us out on Twitter. Juni Ba brings us a tale about T’Challa in her quirky, animated style. Our two back-up stories (celebrating the 200th overall issue of Black Panther since 1977) are the real treat in this issue. Wait, the X-Men live on Mars now? And Black Panther and Storm are back together? I’m so confused… Straight, concise, and to the point.***ĪRTISTS: Juann Cabal, Ibrahim Moustafa, Ba, German Peralta, Matt Milla (Colorist), Chris O’Halloran (Colorist), Jesus Aburtov, Joe Sabino (Letterer). But the lack of map ensured I could never finish it, and the gross art made the experience of trying to do so unpleasant.***This is where we keep it nice and simple. That isn't everything, but it sure is distracting.Īgain, not a bad game and I can't fault people for it. I've played a lot of games and seen a lot of art, but S&S has to be in the top 3 ugliest games I've ever played. The world is pretty sprawling, and you (literally) don't have the perspective that you do in other mapless games like dark souls to keep track of where you are.Īlso, frankly, I found the art appalling. The game felt like it wanted to be the only thing you did in your spare time for a few days straight, because pacing it out is a guaranteed way to forget where everything is. However, the total lack of a map really became a problem for me as the game went on and I was supposed to just remember everything. I thought the combat was fun and enjoyed the very clearly dark souls inspired mood, NPCs, and upgrades. I just wanted to present the opposite opinion on salt and sanctuary.
Blasphemous physical copy Pc#
The sequel, Salt & Sacrifice, is due out this year for PC & PS. Hands down my favorite Soulslike/Metroidvania (even more than HK which is also excellent). If you haven't tried it, be sure to check out Salt & Sanctuary. I imagine other platforms are same or cheaper. Last couple sales on Switch have been under $7 so that shouldn't be an issue.
